Flat Rock and all Anderson 3 schools will dismiss early today, Thursday, February 6th at 2 pm. Please pick car riders up then. Busses will leave our school at 2pm.

Teachers come in all shapes and sizes. Rex listens intently as children read and patiently watches them complete work. He is a motivator when he needs to be, and he brings great comfort to others. We are blessed to have him.
Flat Rock will have our 2nd nine week honor roll celebration on Friday, February 7. 1st and 2nd grade will take place at 8:00 am. 3rd through 5th will take place at 8:30 am. Both celebrations will be held in the gym. This is a change in the schedule from January 31.

Flat Rock is hosting our Family STEAM night tonight in our gym at 6 pm. Please join us to see what your child is learning about science, technology, engineering, arts and math at school. Please use the gym entrance of the school. The book fair will be open at 5 pm.

Students at Flat Rock are creating BattleBots using maker’s space materials and Spheros. Today, they planned an offense and a defense and held a scrimmage in the commons area.

The Kona Ice truck will visit Flat Rock on Thursday during lunchtime. Students may purchase a Kona Ice for $3. All proceeds go to our March of Dimes fundraiser. Thank you for your support!
The battle has begun! First and second graders are competing in Battle of the Books this week. Students have read 10 books that have been nominated for the SC Book Award. They are working in groups to answer questions in a bracketed tournament to determine a champion. Good luck to our first and second graders!
Tomorrow, Monday, January 13 is Solid Orange Day at Flat Rock! Wear orange or Clemson attire in support of Clemson’s participation in the National Championship.
