DHEC will hold a community wide, drive through flu vaccine clinic at Starr Elementary on December 15 from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm and at Flat Rock Elementary on December 17 from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Vaccine, including “flu mist” nasal spray will be available for children and adults. Anyone in the community can participate. Everyone in the car should wear a mask and bring Medicaid/Medicare/Insurance cards.
The Flat Rock clinic will be in the bus drive through along the awning at the gym entrance. Please use the bus entrance to the school from Thompson Road. The Starr clinic will be in the front drive (bus drop off area) of the school, closest to the main entrance.

Due to impending weather conditions, Flat Rock Elementary will have an eLearning day tomorrow, October 29, 2020. K4 through 2nd grade students came home today with a written assignment for tomorrow. 3rd through 5th grade students came home with Chromebooks and chargers. Teachers will upload assignments before tomorrow. Teachers will keep office hours tomorrow, 9:00 am to 10:30 am and 1:30 pm to 3:00 pm. We look forward to seeing our students on Friday to finish celebrating our Red Ribbon Week by wearing our Halloween costumes. Students may not wear scary costumes, full face paint, full face masks, or carry any likeness of a weapon. Stay safe!
Due to anticipated inclement weather from Hurricane Zeta, Anderson School District 3 will hold an eLearning Day on Thursday, October 29, 2020.
Virtual and Face-to-face students will have an eLearning day. There will be no virtual classes meeting via Google Meet. All eLearning assignments will be posted in Google Classroom or dispersed via eLearning Folders.

Next week, October 26 through 30, is Red Ribbon Week at Flat Rock Elementary School. We are partnering with AIM in their "Trick or Treat So Others May Eat" initiative. Students may contribute food items to this cause. Students will bring bags and information home on Friday. Bus riders will be able to put their contributions in a truck as they get off the bus on Monday, and car riders will be able to put their contributions in a truck when they get out of their cars on Monday.
We will also have dress up days next week.
Monday wear red.
Tuesday dress as your favorite storybook character.
Wednesday is mask up day. Students will be provided with a new mask to decorate. No other costumes should be worn on Wednesday.
Thursday dress for farm day.
Friday dress in your Halloween costume. Students may not wear full face make up or full face masks. No scary costumes are allowed.
Hats are allowed Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday if they fit with the theme.
We are looking forward to celebrating Red Ribbon Week next week.
Mrs. Christenbury's students at Flat Rock Elementary use Adaptive Switches to bake and perform classroom tasks! Adaptive switches are input-output devices that allow individuals with physical disabilities to activate assistive technology devices independently. Her class is currently running a blanket fundraiser to purchase additional switches that stimulate different senses. For more information on the fundraiser, contact christenburyj@acsd3.org!

Mrs. Evans’ second grade class is doing Monster Math - Expanding! They’ve learned standard form, base ten blocks, and expanded form.
Anderson 3 is sponsoring a Drive Through Storybook event on Saturday, October 31st, 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM for K4 through 5th grade students. Families may drive around Flat Rock Elementary and experience story time. While you can't get out of your car, we encourage students to wear their costumes. We are going to have a MONSTEROUS good time!
