
Yearbook online ordering will close Sunday, April 30th. Yearbooks can also be purchased by sending cash/check in an envelope to your child's homeroom teacher before end of year activities. Any yearbooks that are left will be available to purchase at end of year field days, graduations, and awards days. Yearbooks are $20.


Mrs. Loftis & Mrs. Haynie's K5 class is learning about the life cycle of plants. ๐ฟ Students planted a flower seed and are hopeful to send home a beautiful flower for Mother's Day. ๐ธ๐ค

Students in K5 and Mrs. Christenbury's classes have spring fever! These students all participated in a special egg hunt this week. ๐ฐ K5 students are also concluding their unit on the life cycle of a chicken. Just look at their sweet chicks! ๐ฅ










5th graders enjoyed their Career Day at Michelin's US8 Plant in Starr. Students learned about the process of making rubber, toured the facility, and competed in a group stem activity. After a delicious lunch, they all received a soccer ball to take home. Thank you, Michelin friends, for supporting Flat Rock Elementary. ๐โฝ๏ธ





Tomorrow morning, we will have our Terrific Kid celebration at 8 am. K5 through second grade honor roll celebration will be at 8:30. Third through fifth grade honor roll will be at 9:00. All events will be in the cafeteria.

Eleven 4th and 5th grade students completed the 20 Book Reading Challenge and went on a field trip to Barnes & Noble and out to lunch. Each student received a free book for their hard work reading twenty chapter books this school year. Way to go, students!


Mrs. Swope and Mrs. Blantonโs second grade reading classes spent the week reading the book, Rosie Revere, Engineer. Students performed the book for classmates in a Readerโs Theatre, learned about engineer, Rube Goldbergโs contraptions, and practiced building their own! ๐ท๐ผโโ๏ธ๐

First graders are adopting peeps from the Easter Bunny! ๐ฐ Should they be allowed to keep their chick? The Easter Bunny will be the judge of that after reviewing students' persuasive letters. โ๏ธ๐ฃ Stay tuned!
