
Our 3rd graders have enjoyed getting their hands dirty, while investigating and observing different types of soil.





Mark your calendars for Family STEM Night on October 16th from 5:30-6:30! How many missions will your family complete? Which family will be crowned CHAMPION?


1st graders are using the scientific method to conduct an investigation on what happens to light when it shines on various objects. They also created devices to communicate we need light to see.



5th Graders are researching how astronauts reuse water. They will plan, create, and test a water filter to make contaminated water drinkable.


Congratulations to Meredith Looney. She was named our August Employee of the Month. Ms. Looney always strives to be the best for each and every one of her students. She also encourages her team and other teachers to do their best. We are so lucky to have her at our school!


2nd graders are learning about animal structures. They are researching about an elephant who lost his leg. They are developing a plan and will create a model of the prosthetic leg for the elephant.

Grandparents Week has been so much fun!! There is still a chance to make it! Lunch, book fair, and a picture opportunity!! We look forward to our last few days with our special guests!

Starr Elementary Parents: We have power!! Thank you to the combined efforts from Duke Power and our administration we now have power restored and will continue with our day!

Starr Elementary Parents: We are experiencing a power outage. Our admistration and district office staff are coordinating with Duke Power to restore power as soon as possible. All kids are safe and daily activities are continuing. We will update once power is restored.
