This Spring, the CHS FBLA team traveled to Charleston to compete at the state Future Business Leaders of America conference.
Freshman Kaley Stevenson placed 1st in the Introduction to Business Procedures category. Ivey Gray, James Sharp, and Haley Pepper placed 2nd in Business Ethics. Senior Devon Loftis placed 2nd in Insurance and Risk Management. Congratulations to these students!

Welcome, Mr. Steven King!
Mr. King has joined the Science Department at Crescent High School! King is a retired educator from Georgia, having served 31 years as a Science Teacher, eight years in Elbert County Schools (Elberton), and 23 years in Clarke County School District (Athens). Mr. King earned the following degrees: BSEd, University of Georgia, MAT, Piedmont College, Ed.S., Piedmont College. He has made several accolades during his career, including the 2013 Georgia DNR Science Teacher of the Year, 2016 Presidential Award of Excellence for Math and Science Teaching, and 2008 Whit Davis Elementary School Teacher of the Year. He has also served on committees with the Georgia Department of Education (2008-2017) to write the Georgia Science Standards of Excellence and as an advisor/consultant from 2014-2019 for the DOE in the development and revision of the Georgia Milestones Science Assessments. Mr. King lives in Georgia with his wife, Tracey. They have two children, Kamryn and Bryson.

TEDxYouth@Columbia is hosting a free, virtual College and Scholarship Fair on Saturday, October 24 from 2 to 5 PM. The College Fair will feature 20+ schools such as USC, USC Honors, Clemson, Claflin, Furman, Midlands Tech, Winthrop, and Wofford, as well as national scholarship programs including Coca-Cola Scholars and the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation. The fair is free to all high school students and counselors.
