
January is designated as School Board Appreciation Month by the South Carolina School Boards Association.
Today we would like to spotlight Anderson 3 Board Member Mr. Marty Watt. Mr. Watt has served on the board since 1998. Marty is a graduate of Crescent High School and Clemson University. He is married to Connie Watt, and they have two children, Brandon and Brittney(Casey), and one grandchild, Ellie.

DHEC will hold a COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic tomorrow, Tuesday, January 25, from 5-8 PM at Crescent High School. This will be set up near the New Gym entrance. Pfizer vaccines will be available to anyone 5+. If you plan to get a booster, please rememberย to bring your vaccine card.ย

Mrs. Krista Gray, Flat Rock Elementary's Librarian, received a $300 Donors Choose Grant. Because of the generosity of donors, Mrs. Gray now has multiple cleaning and disinfecting supplies to keep her library clean! Thank you, donors!


Out of an abundance of caution, Anderson 3 will observe an eLearning Day tomorrow, Friday, January 21. COVID-19 Testing at the district office will still take place.

After evaluating driving conditions in our area and consultation with Anderson County Emergency Management, Anderson 3 will observe an eLearning Day for Wednesday, January 19.
As a reminder, students have five days upon returning to school to complete eLearning work.


Due to the likelihood of unsafe travel conditions, Anderson 3 will observe an eLearning Day tomorrow, Tuesday, January 18.
Your child's school will communicate additional information regarding eLearning.


Welcome, Mrs. Kelly Simpson! ๐๐
Mrs. Simpson is a 7th grade English Teacher at Starr-Iva Middle School. Before this year, she taught at McCants Middle School for seven years. Kelly received both her bachelor's and graduate degrees from Anderson University. She married her husband Keanan in 2015, and they have a daughter Claire. They also have one poodle fur baby, Pogue. Mrs. Simpson enjoys embroidering, tap dancing, and spending time with family outside the classroom.
We're happy to have you, Mrs. Simpson!

At the December meeting of the Anderson 3 Board of Trustees, the board recognized the service of the late Linda J. Burdette. Mrs. Burdette served the students of Anderson 3 for 31 years. A plaque in honor of Linda now hangs in Iva Elementary's lunchroom as a reminder of her love.


Before the break, the Iva Fire Department visited Iva Elementary. Kindergarten students had a blast learning about fire safety! ๐๐งฏ
