🌟Meet #A3AllStar, Mrs. Kelly Fortner! 🌟
Mrs. Fortner is the Librarian at Iva Elementary School. She has been in education for 22 years, serving in grades 3, 4, and 6 before assuming the librarian role six years ago. Kelly is a proud Crescent alumnus and a product of Anderson 3. She received a bachelor's in Elementary Education from Anderson College, a master's in Curriculum Instruction and Assessment, and a master's in Library and Information Science from the University of South Carolina. Kelly and her husband Brandon have been married for 22 years and have two daughters, Kendel and Bailee.
"What do you value most about your position?"
"I love the books (of course!)📚, but my favorite part of being the school librarian is getting to know every student in our building. As a classroom teacher, I only came to know the students when they entered my grade level. This position allows me to get to know the students and see them throughout their elementary school journey. There's no other profession that makes a person feel so loved. In elementary school, you feel like a celebrity every day. When the kids see you in the hallways, they smile and wave and call your name, and it reminds you that no matter how terrible your day may have been, those little people love you. Then, years later, when those same kids are adults, they'll still smile and wave and remind you that they loved you. That's a great feeling!"

🎣 👏🏼 Crescent Senior Anna Kay has become the first female high school angler in Anderson County to sign with a collegiate fishing program! Anna will join Emmanuel College in the fall and pursue a degree in Agriculture Education. Congratulations, Anna!

The Anderson 3 Board of Trustees welcomed the newly elected trustee, Mrs. Hannah Arnold, to the district's at-large seat. Arnold has over 20 years of experience in education, including 12 years as a school counselor and Assistant Principal at Crescent High School. She currently serves Anderson School District Five as the Director of Secondary Instructional Support Services, where she works closely with high school teachers to improve instruction. Hannah obtained a bachelor's degree in Business administration from Anderson University. She then received a Master of Education and Educational Specialist Degree from Clemson University. In addition to her degrees, she holds her National Board Certification.
Mrs. Arnold resides in Iva with her husband, Thomas, and their two children, Hayden and Adalynn. Welcome back to the Anderson 3 Family, Mrs. Hannah Arnold! 🎉
