Board Commendations

The Crescent Colorguard was commended for another historic season!  🎶

Crescent Varsity has won back-to-back AAA Championships. Not only did they win the AAA championship, but they also won overall out of the over 80 groups competing from 4 different states. The Crescent Band program continues to make great strides, and we are so proud of their hard work and dedication. 

Two Crescent High School Paraprofessionals will have new titles in the upcoming school year as they graduate with a degree in Special Education. Sandy Thrasher and Marilyn Thrasher are members of the SC-CREATE Program, which empowers individuals employed full-time by an SC public or charter school to complete a teaching degree in Special Education. Sandy and Marilyn will both graduate on April 26 from Columbia College with a bachelor's in Multicategorical Special Education. They will become Special Education Teachers at Crescent High School in the fall. We are so proud of their drive to reach their goals. Congratulations! 

We also had some fantastic artwork on display from our talented students. Great job to our Tiger Artists!

Capital Improvements

Anderson 3 was awarded $266,082.00 from a Security Grant written approximately 8 months ago. These funds will be used to place perimeter fencing around the 3 schools that do not have fencing around areas where students are during the day which are Starr-Iva Middle School, Starr Elementary School, and Flat Rock Elementary School. The remainder of the funds will be used to finish the rekeying project. This grant is an extension of the grant from 5 years ago that provided keycard access and the rekeying of the entire District.
