Driven by a desire to ensure every student has access to reliable internet outside of school hours, Anderson 3 has pioneered a wireless hotspot program at four district sites. Students in larger cities have the convenience of multiple public Wi-Fi sources, and the A3 board of trustees and district leadership feel our students deserve the same. The only known program of its kind in the state, this A3 Hot Spot Program does just that.
The access points are high-performance super antennas to provide long-range communications to designated spots in our parking lots. The parking spots are monitored 24/7 by outdoor security cameras, and only student Chromebooks are able to connect. Our 1:1 initiative provided a Chromebook for take-home use to middle and high schools students. The New Wi-Fi Hot Spots will ensure students never go without access to the internet when not in school. Hot Spots are located at Flat Rock, Iva and Starr Elementary Schools as well as the Anderson 3 District Office. These parking spots are marked by reflective aluminum signs like the one pictured and service is available from 4 pm - 10 pm weekdays and 8 am - 10 pm on the weekends.
