At the June Meeting of the Anderson 3 Board of Trustees, the board approved the proposed 2023-2024 General Fund budget. This year's budget provides several compensation increases to provide competitive wages for our teachers and staff.
-$2,500 Raise plus Step for Teachers, bringing starting pay to $46,820
-25% Bus Driver Increase, bringing starting hourly pay to $17.28
-$2,500 Raise plus Step for Administrators
-Step plus 4% Raise for All Other Staff
-Additional 2% (6% Total) for School Support Staff
-Addition of 26th Step to Teacher Salary Schedule
It was a priority of the Board of Trustees to accomplish this year's budget while limiting the impact on taxpayers. To accomplish this, six of the eight allowable Mills that fund District operations were taken in this year's budget. The Board concurrently made the decision to reduce the millage that funds District debt requirements by two mills, which will help reduce property taxes for citizens’ primary residences located in our District.
The Anderson 3 2023-2024 budget will be presented to the Anderson County Board of Education on June 27th. The Anderson County Board of Education will vote to approve the budget on July 17th formally.
In addition to the 2023-2024 budget, the board adopted the Paid Parental Leave policy passed down from the state legislature for all Anderson 3 employees. This offers six weeks of paid parental leave and two weeks to co-parents. This new law and policy is effective June 26, 2023.
Together, we will continue into the 2023-2024 school year as the most PREMIER school district in South Carolina.
